Review by Allan Wilson

Harpsichord Recital by János Sebestyén is a brilliant album that showcases the Hungarian harpsichordist's exceptional talent and virtuosity. The album features a selection of works by some of the greatest composers of the Baroque era, including Johann Sebastian Bach, George Frideric Handel, Domenico Scarlatti, and Jean-Philippe Rameau.

Sebestyén's playing is technically flawless and emotionally engaging, with each piece expertly interpreted and brought to life. The album opens with Bach's Prelude and Fugue in C major, a complex and intricate work that Sebestyén performs with ease, highlighting the composer's ingenious use of counterpoint.

Other standout tracks include Handel's Suite in D minor, which features a series of dances that Sebestyén imbues with a lively and playful energy, and Scarlatti's Sonata in D major, a beautiful and lyrical piece that showcases the harpsichord's delicate and expressive qualities.

This man is amazing! Occasionally I hear an edit, unless there's something wrong, with the transmission. Not important. That criticism is for the editor, not Janos. what a player this guy is----and it was all happening in 1963!  Many thanks for the person who has uploaded all these treasures. And thanks to Noshirm for bringing it to my attention!!

No. 10 and 15 sound really nice and electro-funky
